The IELTS Test Preparation Program has been designed to prepare students to pass the IELTS Test. The IELTS Test is a language test which is used by the immigrants as well as students to prove their language proficiency. The four weeks intensive training will cover four modules; Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking.

The writing test has two tasks:

  • Graph Writing and Essay Writing for Academic students
  • Letter Writing and Essay Writing for General students

Students will have 1 hour to finish both tasks. Writing Criteria to evaluate is Task achievement, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resources, and Grammar & Efficiency.

Students from both General training and Academic modules. Students will have 1 hour to do 40 questions.Students will be given a deep understanding of all types of questions; Matching, Multiple Choice questions, Short answer questions, Sentence Completion, True/ False/ Not given/ Diagram Labelling.In class practice , tutorials on each question type and Home assignments will be given to students to develop and attain proper proficiency level.

There are four sections in the listening test. Each section has 10 questions and in total there are 40 questions. The ANSWERS to the questions usually comes in the same order as the information in the recordings. The whole test is about 30-35 minutes.

The test preparation involves the following skill development:

  • Listening for specific information, Listening for main ideas and supporting information.
  • Understanding the speaker’s opinion.

The speaking test consists of 3 parts. The whole speaking is of about 11-14 minutes. Students will be given opportunity to do speaking in class with their instructors. Also, speaking related handouts will be given to the students to practice at home.

  • This ( Academic version) course will allow the students to fulfill the primary requirement to demonstrate their level of English Proficiency which has been endorsed by licensing bodies of most professional upgrading process across Canada. It is required by the students to seek admission in various colleges and Universities.
  • General version of this course helps the students to fulfill the primary requirement to demonstrate their level of English Proficiency which has been endorsed by CIC for immigration purpose.

In order to enroll in this course, Candidates must have:

  • IELTS 5 or 6 BANDS in each module or CLB level 7 for Academic version students.

or

  • Pass the self assessment test of Guru Learning Institute for General version students.

“Cambridge IELTS Books Series 1-11” The students can make practice for all modules from these books at home. Material for skill training and practice will be provided at the center in form of handouts.

A White board for the explanation of concepts and a projector as a teaching tool to present the videos, and increase retention and attention among students.

Students are required to have study materials such as textbooks and notebooks for note-taking and reviewing their lectures at home.

The length of this program is 4 weeks and consists of 80 hours in total. Daytime and evening classes will be available. Schedule of the class may vary and details can be collected from the center.

Application fee: $ 50 + Tuition fees: $ 500

In order to fulfill the language requirements of each module, students are required to work on listening, writing, reading, and speaking for 2-3 hours every day.

Classroom and Instructor Led preparatory course.

Evaluation of the students will be based on:

  • Class participation (Group Discussion & Attendance)
  • Homework
  • Short quizzes
  • Road to IELTS — Mock Tests
  • Interviews with their instructors for Speaking Assessment.

The students are required to attend the classes regularly from Monday to Thursday for 4 hours a day and 20 hours a week.

There is no dress code for this program.

The main objective of this program is to allow the students to expertise in Listening, Writing, Reading, and Speaking, and develop the test taking strategies. Also, Students will be able to be registered with a provincial regulatory body upon the successful completion of this course. Upon completion of this program, the students will be able to:

  • Get familiar with the format of the exam, marking Criteria and understanding of their language skill levels using the Canadian Language Benchmarks.
  • Develop test taking strategies for each module.
  • Deepen their understanding of English and Medical Vocabulary.
  • Boost their self-esteem to take the exam.
